My music video work combines performance, visual experimentation, practical effects, and playful surrealism. I’m drawn to building a distinct visual world around each artist and song, often using handmade elements, unusual locations, in-camera techniques, and rhythmic editing. The work ranges from polished and sensual to strange, funny, and deliberately rough around the edges, but is always shaped around the personality of the performer and the music.

Temptation of Pomba Gira

Temptation of Pomba Gira is an experimental film exploring ritual, seduction, and transformation through evocative imagery and immersive sound. Winner of the Briefs Staff Choice Award, the piece layers ritualistic chanting, buzzing bees, and reversed voices into a haunting soundscape that blurs the line between dream and ceremony. Featuring performances by Dark Sheik and Dorian Faust, the film conjures lovers, spirits, and forgotten myths in a surreal visual experience. Created as an exploration of atmosphere rather than narrative, it demonstrates my interest in experimental storytelling, symbolic imagery, and emotionally driven filmmaking.

Pyrophelia

Pyrophelia is an experimental erotic short documentary exploring the intersection of fire, fetish, and desire. Built around an intimate interview with a dominatrix describing her personal relationship with fire, the film pairs her voice with footage of Bay Area fire performers to create a visual meditation on danger, attraction, and sensuality.

The film uses fire performance, ambient moans, and rhythmic editing to create a suggestive sensory landscape, allowing image and sound to blur the boundary between documentary and fantasy.

Underwater Photography

For nearly a decade, I’ve been experimenting with underwater photography as a space for portraiture, movement, and visual storytelling. My work ranges from editorial photography to experimental imagery, with subjects including musicians, mermaids, performers, and roller skaters.

Working underwater transforms movement, light, fabric, hair, and expression. Through training in underwater photography and posing, I’ve developed techniques for directing subjects in an environment where the usual rules of portraiture no longer apply.

I’ve photographed in saltwater and chlorinated pools at depths of up to 16 feet, using refraction, buoyancy, distortion, bubbles, reflections, and shifting sunlight as elements of the image itself.
